The openwork six pillar frame (with later spotting) signed and dated DAVID CARLAW 1860 to the front, with silvered and cut-out Roman chapter ring, the single chain fusee movement with anchor escapement and passing strike on gong (canon arbor sheared); mounted on a later wooden block, also with silvered beatscale to the rear for the mercury pendulum with rating scale -- 14in. (35.5cm.) high
