An early Victorian small mahogany mantel timepiece, circa 1840
The fluted top with turned finial, with ripple moulded cornices, arched glazed side panels within gilt slips, the front door with tracery arch glass flanked to the top by fluted spandrels, on bun feet, with silvered and engraved Roman dial within foliate engraved border, the single wire fusee movement with anchor escapement, with pendulum holdfast to the shouldered backplate (lacking screw) -- 12¼in. (31cm.) high
