The case with gadrooned and foliate finials to the breakarch top, gilt-metal caryatids to the front angles, the sides with handles and gilt-metal sound frets cast with foliage and central masked sunburst, the base supported on scrolling feet, the dial signed John Taylor London on a sector in the matted centre, the brass dial with black painted steel hands, inner concentric calendar ring with brass arrow head hand, foliate spandrels, strike/silent ring in the arch, the five pillar twin fusee movement with verge escapement and strike/trip repeat on a bell, with pendulum holdfast to the foliate engraved backplate -- 20¾in. (53cm.) high
