The case with brass handle to inverted bell top and on moulded base with square feet, with convex moulded angles and gilt brass quarter frets to the front door, conforming circular frets above shaped frets to the sides, the brass dial with silvered subsidiary rings to the arch for strike/silent and pendulum regulation, with engraved mask between and silvered plaque signed Rob.t Markham LONDON above, with floral basket spandrels to the silvered chapter ring, matted centre with mock pendulum, later painted hands, the twin wire fusee movement with conversion to anchor escapement and strike on bell, the backplate engraved with foliate scrolls around a mask, with later movement securing brackets (case and movement possibly associated) and cut-out section to the baseboard -- 18in. (46cm.) high
