An English mahogany and inlaid longcase clock
The crossbanded case with swan neck pediment to the hood, outset line inlaid columns, the short trunk door inlaid with a flowering urn, with floral basket inlay to the panel above, on plinth inlaid with musical trophies and raised on a wavy skirting, the 11in. square brass dial with mask and floral scroll spandrels to the silvered chapter ring signed Richard Hardwick Ashwick, the matted centre engraved with a dove above a filled in date aperture, with false plate to the four pillar rack striking movement with anchor escapement and strike on gong; composite, case late 19th century, dial second half 18th century, movement 19th century -- 83½in. (213cm.) high
