A LARGE EARTHENWARE VASE
meiji period, late 19th century
Of sharp shouldered form tapering to the base and rising to a waisted neck and everted rim, painted on either side with two large panels one depicting ducks amid blossoming lillies below a shoreline teahouse, the reverse with a woman and attendant walking beside giant peony bushes, all on a dark blue ground with flower heads beneath a lappet band on the neck and a liewen band on the mouth, base with Kinkozan zo gilt seal mark and impressed seal
