A pair of Chinese cloisonne and gilt bronze elephants
standing four square with heads turned left and right, each with a trunk held lotus flower with celadon jade liner, wearing decorative saddle cloths supporting gu vases with lobed quatrefoil flaring necks, decorated all over in coloured enamels with lotus flowers, scrolling foliage and stylised archaic motifs on turquoise grounds -- 12¼in. (31.1cm) high, 19th Century, (minor cracks, surface pits, slight wear).
