Lot Essay

Harunobu was influenced by Okumura Masanobu. Like Masanobu, he called himself a Yamato-e shi (traditional Japanese painter). The Masanobu hanging scroll in this print, signed Hogetsudo Tanchosai Okumura Bunkaku Masanobu sehitsu is Harunobu's tribute to the artist.
