A parcel-gilt, silvered and mahogany cheval-mirror
Possibly Russian, first half 19th Century
The rectangular plate surrounded by an egg-and-dart border, in a concave frame, flanked by two turned columns each with an acanthus capital and base and centring on a band of laurel, surmounted by a rectangular concave top applied with acanthus leaves and arches, with a shell-shaped cresting with two doves and flanked by a dolphin to each side, the shaped plinth base surmounted by an occasional table to each rounded corner, each with a circular white marble top, above a plain frieze with a small drawer, on turned baluster support surrounded by acanthus and on three dolphin legs
