A Minton majolica dark-blue-ground two-handled jardinière
moulded in relief with a central band adorned with acorns and oakleaves with two ovoid panels of classical goddesses, one moulded with Diana, goddess of the hunt supported by two recumbent hounds, the other with a bacchante with a garland of fruiting vine, supported by two leopards, between stiff-leaf band borders and rope-twist rims, impressed marks, shape 1992, year cypher for 1876 (cracked and restored with flaking interior) -- 32cm. high
