Lot Essay

The girandole brackets, with palm-wrapped candle-branches, are enriched with pearled ribbon-guilloches and Roman acanthus, and are ribbon-tied to laurel-wreathed pastoral trophies of tambourines and horns suspended beneath additional brackets serving as perches for Roman eagles.
