Each with curved shaped padded back, part padded arms and padded seat covered in yellow silk, edged with braid, the shaped toprail above out- curved arms with scroll and leaf-wrapped terminals on channelled supports, terminating in anthemia above a shaped front rail, on palm-headed cabriole legs and laurel-leaf wrapped feet, later blocks, four ears replaced, lacking one ear, one arm with repaired break (2)

A similar pair of armchairs was sold by the Executors of the late Mrs. C. Butler-Charteris, in these Rooms, 11 February 1999, lot 142.
