A GROUP OF EIGHT CHINESE POLYCHROME-PAINTED FRAMED FRAGMENTS
19th Century
Each panel painted on finely woven material on board, the two larger panels forming a pair, each with ribbon-tied foliage suspending a medallion and a canopy suspending tassels, surrounded by polychrome flowers with an orange flower-filled border, two others of similar design but different sizes with a green vase issuing branches and flowers suspending a tassel, within a red geometric vine-filled border, two others of similar design but different sizes, depicting flowering bamboo suspending a vase, within a twisted floral vine border (the larger one created from two separate fragments joined together and with different borders), another pair of the same size with flowering bamboo, birds and butterflies with a twisted floral vine border, each framed in later pale-green moulding with glass, restorations, re-backed onto material
