A PAIR OF FAMILLE ROSE TWO-HANDLED JARS AND COVERS
circa 1770-1780, one cover a later English replacement
Applied with a chilong dragon at either side forming the handles, the baluster bodies richly enamelled and gilt on each side with a large shaped cartouche enclosing two butterflies hovering above a vase of flowers reserved on a gilt and iron-red Y-pattern ground with smaller floral cartouches and vignettes, all on a tall waisted foot with aubergine petals, minor restoration to extremities
