Smith: "The work is one of the most scholarly arithmetics and algebras that came out in Germany in the sixteenth century ... This work did for Germany what Cardano's and Tartaglia's did for Italy. It was a storehouse from which subsequent writers drew, and, although not a practical mercantile book, it materially influenced even the elementary textbook makers."
