YANKEE STADIUM PITCHING RUBBER AND SPARKY LYLE AWARD
The 1974 pitching rubber from the pre-renovated Yankee Stadium. This is the complete rubber made up of a steel pipe encased in a block of rubber. The top surface shows heavy use with scuff marks and grooves made from contact with metal cleats. The surface also features a bronze colored metal plaque with the engraving "This is the last pitching rubber in Yankee Stadium before it was remodeled in 1974" - Sparky Lyle. Included in this lot is a 1976 Rolaids Relief Man award plaque presented to Yankee relief pitcher Sparky Lyle. (2)
