A walnut veneered bureau, early 18th century
With some later re-veneering, probably Anglo Dutch, in two sections, the upper part with a sloping fall inset with a leather-lined panel to the reverse, enclosing a graduated fitted interior with concave drawers, pigeon holes, secret compartments with half columns and central enclosed cupboard having a well below concealed by a slide with a further secret compartment, the waisted lower part containing two short and two long drawers, on bracket feet
