Lot Essay

The inlay on the top with stylised flowers and hop leaves is similar to trailing stems in the Wilkinson Tracings. The column has similarities to a sofa table figure 46, illustrated in George Bullock Cabinet-Maker introduction by Clive Wainwright, published by John Murray and H. Blairman and Sons,p.109. The marquetry pattern on each corner of the base appears in the Wilkinson's Tracings (unbound number 218).
