The bowl of hemispherical form on short foot, the blue-grey ground of both decorated in brightly coloured enamels with fine scrolling floral and scrolling motifs around a band of gold ground floral panels containing floral sprays and birds alternating with pictorial roundels depicting interior scenes, floral bands above and below with minor gold interlace bands, one side of the bowl with a roundel inscribed in gold nasta'liq, the interior with similar gold and enamelled floral and pictorial designs, the dish with the inscription roundel in the centre

The inscription roundels on both pieces are identical and read: Farmayesh-i hasrat as'ad amjad arfa' wala sultan Mas'ud amirzadeh amin al-dowlat Zill-i Sultan (made to the order of his excellency the fortunate, the excellent, the highest, a noble kinsman of the Sultan Mas'ud, price, Amin al-Dawla, Zill-i Sultan).
