Carved in relief in kufic with sura cdii (al-ikhlas). The five lines of writing seem not to have continued since the lowest line is a decorative border made up of a series of lam-alifs. The panel may have been intended as a mihrab. The calligraphy is similar, though a little more provincial, to the white marble stone sold as lot 307, October 1988.
