Of Agra design, the blood-red field with a counterposed design of large palmettes and occasional cloudband linked by angular flowering tendrils, in a shaded light blue palmette and flowering vine border between tan floral meander and red flowerhead and floral spray stripes, corroded black, a few areas of localised wear, one end border missing and replaced by half the other, possibly reduced in length

Lot Essay

It is interesting to note in this carpet the survival of an earlier Ushak feature whereby the white wool warps are at each end dyed red.
