The above competition was dreamed up by the Glasgow Football Association to raise funds for the Dental Hospital. In the semi-final of the competition Partick Thistle defeated Celtic, which set-up a final clash against Glasgow Rangers. The final played on 11th December 1928 at Hampden Park saw Thistle win 2-0, David Ness scoring one goal
