James McStay was born on 1st April 1895 at Netherburn, he made his debut for Celtic on 4th November 1922 against Clyde and he made a total of 472 appearances for Celtic, scoring 8 goals. He became Celtic manager in 1940 and after a brief spell as Hamilton Academicals manager, he joined Celtic again as Chief Scout in 1951
