Shackleton/and his comrades June 29 1909/Princes Restaurant, 25.2 x 17.6cm., including four scenes from the expedition: 'Goodbye to the southern party', 'The winter quarters', 'The return of Southern party' and an untitled view of the 'Nimrod' being towed south by the 'Koonya', all after Marston, SIGNED IN INK BY SHACKLETON, framed and glazed.
This dinner is one of the earliest of a series of events recognising the expedition's achievements which culminated in Shackleton's knighthood at the end of the year.
