Possibly Irish, early 18th century with restorations
The yoke-form crestrail with scrolled stiles and curved vasiform splat above a flaring padded drop-in seat covered with dark green floral and foliate silk-damask, flanked by molded S-scroll armrests on inverted-cabriole supports, on C-scroll cabriole legs with trifid feet, the whole inlaid with seaweed marquetry panels, seat inscribed in pencil old cove

Lot Essay

The use of oak veneers, trifid shape of the feet, scrolled brackets and pegged construction on this chair support an Irish attribution.
