The rounded rectangular top with gadrooned edge above a panelled frieze with two drawers to one side, the leaf-sheathed baluster-form stem on quadripartite base and splayed scroll-top legs with carved flowerheads on foliate-cast brass caps and casters, the carving formerly ebonized or bronzed

Lot Essay

The scroll-headed legs applied with carved rosettes and boldly gadrooned top edge features on furniture supplied by William Trotter of Edinburgh. A related display case stand supplied for George Home's Paxton House in 1815 is illustrated in F.
