Lot Essay

The original was engraved in the same sense by Cochin (Bocher no.42). Another mirror image version of the original was offered in the Vogel Sale, Parke-Bernet, 18 April 1956, lot 54, as studio of Lancret, and an engraving in the reverse sense after Cochin was offered in the sale of Narisckine Collection, Paris, 1883, lot 20.
