unsigned on the instrument, but the brass case for the main objective signed on the lid No1&2 Achromatic JasSmith LONDON , the body-tube with sliding draw-tube, mounted on a limb with screw attachment for sideways motion, the stage adjusted by rack and pinion from the square section vertical pillar, and incorporating adjustable slide holders, with three sockets for stage accessories such as bull's-eye condenser and forceps, and sub-stage aperture disc with three apertures, the lower pillar with plano-concave mirror, supported by a compass joint to the tapering pillar column support above the folding tripod stand, in fitted mahogany case with bull's-eye condenser attachment, forceps, four objectives numbered 1-4 (no.4 lacking glass), a lieberkuhn, a second eyepiece, six ivory sliders and other accessories, with some tissue labelled This Tissue is Green's No. 105 J. BARCHAM GREEN LIMITED MAIDSTONE, ENGLAND, in the original fitted mahogany case with green felt padding (inset key escutcheon missing), the case -- 11¼in. (28.5cm.) wide
