A fine and detailed mahogany and aluminium model of a De Havilland Mosquito MkVII Fighter Bomber made by an Italian prisoner of war in Zwartkops Air Force Base, South Africa during the Second World War for the vendor,
the mahogany airframe with movable aelerons, elevators and rudder, aluminium engine and radiator cowlings, opening bomb and wheelwell doors, retractable main undercarriage, opening crew access door revealing steps, seats, instruments and controls with perspex canopy over, four Hispano 20mm canon muzzles and spent cartridge case chutes, radio mast, aerial and three blade propellers, unpainted. Wingspan -- 28in. (71.1cm.); overall length -- 21½in. (54.6cm.)
