An early 19th-Century oxidised-brass diamond pattern framed sextant,
signed on the arc Heather London, with finely divided silvered scale, well engraved numerals, lacquered-brass screws and fittings, seven shades of green, purple and deep amber, mirror, adjustable telescope mounting, the index arm with silvered vernier scale, magnifier with silvered reflector, tangent-screw fine adjustment and clamp, the underside of the frame with mahogany handle pierced with a sleeve for pillar mounting, with three tapering feet, four telescopes, two eyepiece shades, in the original keystone-shaped plush-lined mahogany case -- 13.3/8in.
