a leather cartouche on the underside of the padded lid reading INSTTS DE CHIRURGIE CAPRON & Fils Breveté RUE DE L'ÉCOLE DE MÉDECINE, 10 PARIS, comprising thirteen glass cups with lacquered- brass fittings and valves, the turning handles stamped CAPRON, eleven glasses of 2-inch diameter, one glass of 1¾-inch diameter, one glass of 1-inch diameter, with a lacquered-brass twelve-blade scarificator and a rubber bulb with lacquered-brass neck fitting, contained in a red felt-lined black leatherette case with two brass clasps and carrying handle -- 13in. (33cm.) wide
