Lot Essay

Prince Henry, Duke of Gloucester, served with the 10th Hussars from 1921, becoming Colonel in Chief in 1937. In the 1920s he frequently carried out Public Duties in the Full Dress uniform of the Regiment, in which the order of 1902 abolishing the rank-distinctions on collars and sleeves of captains and field officers appears to have been generally ignored.
