An Officer's Mess Dress of the 10th Hussars
A good dark-blue Old Style mess-jacket by SANDILANDS & SON, with gold cord and Russia braid edging to collar, cuffs and jacket, the backseams richly trimmed with gold cord terminating at the waist with an Austrian knot on each side; with its companion scarlet waistcoat, edged with "Broken Bias"lace, bearing 18 loops of gold chain-gimp on each side of the chest, fastened in the centre with a row of ball buttons, a row of half-ball buttons on the outer ends of the loops (the jacket named to W.E. Carver Esq. 10/23)
