The Buffalo Volunteer Rifles:
The parent Corps of the Kaffrarian Rifles, the B.V.R. was raised in East London in 1876 with a strength of two Companies. Disbanded after the Kaffir War in 1880, the unit boasted among its former C.Os Colonel Brabant. Issued with 195 Medals, the vast majority with the '1877-8' clasp.
