Lieutenant Kenelm Stewart Leith Bell was killed in action on 4.9.1940 while serving in No. 813 Squadron, Fleet Air Arm. Operating off H.M.S. Eagle, his aircraft was lost in a bombing raid on Maritza Aerodrome on Rhodes. Bell is commemorated on the Lee-on-Solent Memorial.
