A PERSIAN POTTERY ANTHROPOMORPHIC TRIPOD JAR
CIRCA LATE 2ND MILLENNIUM B.C.
The bulbous body with human head, mouth open wide, with beaked nose, circular eyes and short applied fringed hair, crown of head flat, on short tripod feet, 4.1/8 in. (10.4 cm.) high; and a Mandaic pottery magical incantation conical bowl with everted rim, a black ink inscription inside with drawing of a mythical bird, circa 5th Century A.D., 5½ in. (14 cm.) diam.
