Lot Essay

Diagonal Trail woven woolen fabric was designed by Dearle c.1893. Hand-loom jacquard woven Merton Abbey. Repeat:18 1/4 x 16 1/2in.(46.5 x 42 cm.) Width: 54in. (137cm.) Pattern:1192, in two colourways. Used on the walls of the great parlour at Wightwick Manor, part of the new extensions, circa 1893
