A Westerwald pewter-mounted blue-ground salt glazed stoneware jug
Late 17th Century
With loop handle, the cylindrical neck applied with a grotesque mask below the lip, the bulbous body applied with five figures, each divided by two winged cherubs' masks within ogival quatrefoil cartouches enriched in manganese, the flat pewter cover with urn finial and shell thumb-piece (chip to lower handle terminal, damages to pewter cover)
