A Meissen baluster milk-jug and a cover from a jagd service
Circa 1750, blue crossed swords mark, Pressnummer 89
With fluted spout and wish-bone handle moulded with gilt scrolling foliage, painted with sprays and bouquets of flowers, each side painted with vignettes supported by pierced bown and gilt rococo half-cartouches, the first side with an Indian poised over a lion with a bow and arrow, the lion attacking a horse with its cub wrapped in red cloth nearby, the reverse with leopards playing with their cubs at the foot of a tree with a monkey, the flat cover with flower-sprays and a vignette with a sheep about a flower finial (restoration to spout, cover with minute rim chip and restoration to finial and terminal)
