Provenance: Antoine-Augustin Renouard (gilt-lettered on upper cover); John Thomas Payne (signature, dated 1850 on preliminary blank; John M. Schiff (sale Sotheby's New York, 11 December, 1990, lot 71). FIRST EDITION, of the first English book on dogs, also contains information on foxes and wolves.
