A ROMAN MARBLE HEAD OF APOLLO

From a herm, the head turned slightly to the right, the heavy face with parted lips and large eyes, the brow and bridge of the nose rendered with sharp lines, wearing a diadem, with abundant drilled curls at the forehead, longer locks in front of the ears, long wavy tresses falling to the shoulders, and a tapering mass of locks in back, iron pins at the shoulders, 13 7/16in. (34.2cm.) high
