AN OLD BABYLONIAN HEMATITE CYLINDER SEAL

Engraved with a female deity, probably Ishtar, her head turned frontally, standing with one foot on an animal, a mace in her raised right hand, a scimitar in her lowered left hand, two quivers on her shoulders, wearing a long pleated dress, a bearded male deity in front of her in ascending position holding a saw, wearing a pleated garment, approached by a male worshipper wearing a pleated garment and female worshipper wearing a flounced robe, with a single column of cuneiform inscription, 20.8 x 10.6mm.
