THREE STUFF-WORK COTTON BOLSTER COVERS
AMERICAN, 19TH CENTURY

Each rectangular, plain woven form and centering a wrought trapunto motif: the first with a ribbed basket sprouting flowers and ferns, the whole enclosed on three sides by a ribbon-tied flower garland and finished with drawn-work and fringe; the second, centering a ribbed and diamond quilted flowering basket enclosed on three sides by a ribbon-tied meandering vine of flowers, leaves and roses, the whole flanked on both sides with fringe; the third, centering a stuff-worked basket of flowers surrounded below by stuffed scrolling princess feathers--25in. x 31in.; 23in. x 33 ½in.; 24 ½in. x 40in.
