Lot Essay

Simon Singer was born in 1822 in Baden, Germany. He was the resident potter working with John Bigly, Nockamixon Township by 1850. He bought the Conrad Mumbouer Pottery (see lot 206) in Haycock township at a sherriff's sale for $2,500. The pottery operated until 1912.
