Lot Essay

Founded in 1875 as the Verrerie de Nancy, this glassware firm was taken over in 1887 by the Daum Frères, Auguste and Antonin, the latter assuming artistic direction. Like other members of the Nancy School, much of their work of this period was inspired by the flora and fauna of their native Lorraine.
