Lot Essay

In 1895, Henri Muller, who had previously apprenticed at the Gallé glassworks, opened a small glass decorating workshop in Lunéville, where he was soon to be joined by a sister and many brothers, hence the name 'Muller Frères'. The vessels were blown to the requirements at the Hinzelin glassworks in nearby Croismare and then decorated at Lunèville.
