In 1899 Arthur Lasenby Liberty (1843-1917) launched his Cymric range of silver at his Regent Street department store. The Tudric pewter rangewhich was cheaper and thus more accessable was launched a couple of years later. Designers, most importantly Archibald Knox, Rex Silver, Bernard Cuzner and Jessie M King produced a range of highly stylised objects and jewellery including clocks which are often embellished with enamels. The Cymric range was finally closed in 1926.
