Although the artist is known to have been a successful portrait painter in Saint Petersburg, the present portrait is apparantly the only one known. Two other works are recorded in the RKD: a Vanitas in the Kunstmuseum, Sankt Gallen (Barock am Bodensee, exhibition catalogue, Bregenz, 1963, no.5, ill.) and a School Room, offered at Sotheby's, London, 30 April 1947, lot 81, ill.
