Lot Essay

Elliger a native of Gothenburg, developed his style in Antwerp, when he was influenced by Seghers and De Heem. Then in Amsterdam, he was influenced by Kalff. From 1666 he was in Hamburg, where he formed his own idiom. The present work was executed a year after he had arrived in that city.
