On a square pedestal base raised on four acanthus and scroll feet, applied with paterae on each side, the circular foot and lower body densely chased with stiff leaves and lobes, the shoulder chased with ribbon and drapery swags, the dolphin-form tap with carved ivory dolphin-form spigot, the two high scroll handles capped by bellflowers and with acanthus joins, the high-domed fluted cover with similar vase-form finial, the front engraved with a coat-of-arms within a ribbon and floral garland, the base and cover engraved with a crest, marked under base, on cover bezel and on tap

The arms are those of Mannock impaling those of Doughty, for Sir Thomas Mannock, baronet of Gifford's Hall and his first wife Mary, daughter of George Brownlow Doughty of Snarford Hall, Lincolnshire, whom he married in 1756. He died in 1781.
